On Friday 16 and Tuesday 27 October at 10 am, a free "Métiers d'art et patrimoine" tour leads from the Maison des Métiers d'Art to the workshops of leather maker Morgane Dudit and glassmaker Antonio Zito. Small groups, booking on 04 67 98 11 12.
In October, the Hérault-Méditerranée urban community, Ateliers d'Art de France (Empreintes) and the town of Pézenas run "Métiers d'art et patrimoine" guided tours. They combine the town's heritage with visits to two craftspeople in their workshops.
Morgane Dudit, trained in cabinet-making, architecture and leatherwork, creates one-off leather pieces with vivid colours and clean lines, through an entirely handmade process.
Antonio Zito, in his "Couleurs de verre" workshop, shapes Murano glass rods with a torch. A master of lampwork and cane-blown glass, he makes sculptures, decorative objects and jewellery.
Meet on Friday 16 or Tuesday 27 October at 10 am at the Maison des Métiers d'Art, 6 place Gambetta. The tour lasts 2 to 2.5 hours, in a small group. It is free, by phone booking only on 04 67 98 11 12.
