From 17 to 31 October, the Lodève museum offers "Urgence paléo!", a brand-new escape game created by Le Manoir du Crime (family version from age 10, adult version from 15), along with fossil-handling and casting workshops. Booking required.
For its 3rd edition, this free photo trail displays work by more than 30 photographers in some 20 venues, including the Saint-Nazaire cathedral cloister and the Musée Fayet. A contest also features 15 amateur photographers from Occitanie, and visitors can vote for their favourite.
From 23 October to 1 November, the 6th Temps d'Expo festival fills the lanes, squares and mansions of Pézenas with work by established and emerging photographers. Guest of honour Trinley Paris shows at the Hôtel Flottes de Sébasan, and free walks let visitors meet the photographers.
What to do this weekend? Autumn & half-term
On Thursday 29 October at 8:30 pm, at the Salle Léo Ferré, Jazz'Orb hosts the "Bang Bang" quartet, a tribute to the swinging jazz born in New York in the late 1960s, with Gabriel Fernandez (saxophone), Erik Lohrer (guitar), Emmanuel Beer (Hammond organ) and Thomas Doméné (drums). In the heart of the Haut-Languedoc, the lanes of Olargues host a large market of regional craftspeople and producers, creative workshops and family activities, with hot chestnuts and the Chœur du Jaur choir. A fireworks display lights up the Champ des Horts on Saturday at 8pm and the museum opens over the weekend; entry is free.
On Thursday 12 November, from 5 to 7 pm, the atrium of the Eau Thermale Avène hotel hosts a market of local producers and craftspeople, with tastings and sales of jams and wines from local producers. Free entry, open to all; cash only. Information: +33 4 67 23 44 45.
