From Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 November 2026, Montpellier stages the 11th edition of Cœur de Ville en Lumières. For three evenings, the finest historic façades of the Écusson become giant screens for shows combining light and music.
Organised by the city and the CCI Hérault chamber of commerce, the event brings together scenographies created by professionals, including five renowned artists according to the city, and by students from Montpellier's schools. Around twenty works are announced: video mapping on landmark sites in the centre, light installations in squares and gardens, and a game zone where visitors can play mapped video games.
The projections run continuously, each lasting between 3 and 8 minutes, so visitors can stroll from one site to the next. An accessible route with reserved areas is planned for people with reduced mobility.
Entry is free. The city expects some 400,000 visits in total over the three evenings.
