From Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October, the 24th national and international chess meeting in Cap d'Agde offers five classical opens for all levels, a rapid tournament, evening blitz games and, on Thursday 29 October at 8:30 pm, a women's challenge match.

During the autumn half-term, Cap d'Agde once again welcomes chess enthusiasts. From Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October 2026, the CAPÉCHECS association holds its 24th national and international chess meeting at the CCAS holiday centre.

The programme features five classical opens for different levels, including a "Fil Rouge" tournament for unlicensed players and the CAP50 open for players born before 1976; a fifth open has been added this year. There is also the "Rapide du Cap" and the CAPEXPRESS blitz, with qualifiers in the evenings and the final on 31 October. According to the organisers, more than 900 players took part in the opens last time.

A highlight of the week is a women's challenge match on Thursday 29 October from 8:30 pm in the Molière arena. The organisers also recall that in October 2006 a 15-year-old Norwegian named Magnus Carlsen came to play in Cap d'Agde.

Online registration at capechecs.com, with check-in online from 22 October or on site on 24 October, 9 am to 1 pm.
