On 17 and 18 October, the Palais des Congrès Jean-Balladur hosts the 5th "La Grande Motte se livre" book fair: 23 authors, signings, talks, readings, children's workshops and a concert. Guests of honour: Karine Giebel and Daniel Picouly. Free activities.

Over the weekend of 17 and 18 October 2026, at the start of the autumn school holidays, La Grande-Motte holds the 5th edition of its book fair, "La Grande Motte se livre", at the Palais des Congrès Jean-Balladur. Twenty-three authors are expected for signings, talks, readings, a show and a concert.

The guests of honour are Karine Giebel and Daniel Picouly, who both present their latest books on Saturday afternoon. Other announced authors include J.R. Dos Santos, François-Henri Désérable, Alexis Jenni, Sarah Biasini and Solène Bakowski. Talks are hosted by Agathe Fourgnaud and journalists.

Younger visitors have their own programme: a comic-strip workshop with artist Aré (ages 7 and up, booking required), baby play and story sessions, and the reading-show "Tonnerre de mammouth" on Sunday. The fair closes on Sunday at 5 pm with a jazz and groove concert by the trio Silent Taste.

Signings and book sales run on Saturday from 10 am to 6:30 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm. All activities are free, except Guillaume de Tonquédec's reading, which is ticketed and must be booked.
